Fixing Leaking Bath Screens The Byretech Way

bath screen leaks

By Steve Dalloway – Byretech Ltd

So let’s be 100% clear – All bath screens leak – Its a fact !

But how do we fix this so water isn’t constantly dripping all over the floor and eventually damaging skirting / doors / flooring and coming through to the ceiling of the room below ?

Well here at Byretech, we are the self proclaimed experts in preventing water damage in bathrooms amongst other things and in 2019 we set our collective brain power on solving this little conundrum.

There are so many different designs of Bath Screens out there, that we had to find something incredibly simple and universal to do the job effectively.

We came up with a self adhesive low cost solution that really works a treat. 30,000 people and counting use our product to prevent these annoying leaks now and the product itself is called Screen Seal Ultra.

So what is it, how does it work and will it stop my leak ?

Screen Seal Ultra is a very simple “D Shaped” self adhesive tube, that sticks easily and securely onto the side of your bath to prevent water from getting under your existing seal and finding it’s way onto the floor when you shower.

It fits on the outside rim of the bath and starts right at the tiled wall and finishes at the end of your screen as below.

Just clean the rim of the bath and make sure it’s now dry and free from limescale or anything that will stop screen Seal Ultra adhering to the bath properly.

Measure the length you need, which will be the same length as your screen and cut it to size with scissors as below.

The Seal itself comes in 100cm and 200cm options from us right here at Byretech.

Simply peel back the red backing and fit it, starting at the wall end and within a few minutes you’ve solved the problem of your leaking Bath Screen. So simple but so effective.

Plus the seal once stuck down, will usually compress easily allowing the seal on your screen to pass over it for cleaning etc.

It’s a one shot seal, so you need to get the fitting right first time. But if you need to in the future you can remove / replace it without damaging the bath at all.

There are some occasions when the seal wont work as well as intended and they are listed below.

  • When the seal on the bath screen is so small that it wont allow the screen to pass over Screen Seal Ultra.
  • If the screen is badly misaligned and as above you cant get the seal to pass over Screen Seal Ultra.
  • If the rim of the bath hasn’t been cleaned properly and it comes off due to the dirt / greasy surface.

So that’s it in a nutshell, all Bath Screens leak no matter if its a £500 unit or a budget £100 unit.
